Sirius turned just slightly red at her teasing, the effect making one wonder if it was really just a trick of the light and not him at all. "I'm just saying there are, uh, more knowledgeable people than I." He said with a sheepish grin.
"The only bacon I've ever seen fly is that that I launch at Peter at breakfast, and I assure you it does not have wings- though that would be really cool, come to think of it. However, should it grow wings, I will certainly tell you. Also, if you should like to hex Slytherins with me sometime, I shall consider that even more alluring than flying bacon. In fact, I will go as far as to say that would be bloody smashing."

The fact that he seemed to actually turn red at the teasing made Madison blink owlishly and look twice, though in the end she decided it was just her eyes and the light in the room playing tricks on her. It HAD to be, the alternative was a bit..absurd. Deciding not to comment on the fact that there was flying bacon - though it was contrived and wing-less - she simply snorted softly at his sudden idea. While hexing people for the hell of it was generally something she didn't do, there was a first time for everything..especially when it came to Hogwarts' personal coven of snakes.
"Give me an idea of the Slytherins you're thinking of and where, and I'll be more than glad to join you in that. Haven't had an outlet for a few particular frustrations lately, and it's starting to bottle up."

The amount of mischief that reeked from Sirius should have automatically made him grow a pair of horns, but unfortunately it did not. It was sort of comical how like a cherub he could look, even when thinking the sort of thoughts that would make Satan ponder their merit. "As for the where, well, wherever we can catch one."
"And the who... well, I was thinking the dear, sweet, Slytherin court. Why go for the eggs when we can have a go at the fully grown snakes?"

"Whenever one or more can be caught, and whomever is in the 'court'. Very well, makes it a bit of a challenge." Smile akin to something a cheshire cat would give, Madison glanced up as their food was finally brought around. The conversation had almost made her forget the edges of hunger, but now it was brought back in full force.
Lifting the mug of butterbeer - struck at how cold it was to the touch, but that was exactly how she had wanted it - she raised it as if to toast. "To causing mayhem for Hogwarts' slimiest serpents?"

"Couldn't have said it better myself. Cheers." Sirius clinked his butterbeer glass with hers, sending the slightest bit over the edge to slosh on his hand. Oh well.
He took a long drink and thought about their proposition for a moment. "Should we go diliberately hunting them, or let them chance upon us?"

Considering the matter herself for a moment, Madison took a sip of the frothy drink, wiping foam off of her top lip after setting the mug down in front of her. "Maybe start off letting them find us by chance. Devil knows they love doing that with us." She made a face, well aware that her House always made her a particular target - especially for the serpants.

Sirius nodded, mulling it over as he took a long drink of his own butterbeer, nearly draining half the glass in one go. He and James usually went looking for Slytherin targets, but sitting and waiting for them to arrive, well, that added a certain bit of complication to an otherwise easy game. It wasn't hard to find a Slytherin- any Slytherin- and then hex the crap out of them, if one knew where to look.
"I like it. In the meantime, should you get bored, feel free to snog me..." He said jokingly, keeping his expression completely innocent.

"Perhaps when we're somewhere where there's no audience, or any chance of one." Madison remarked quietly, irritably pushing the thoughts of the earlier confrontation from her mind as they, once again, cropped up. It wasn't the time to think of it, even if it did keep popping up. Glancing across the table at him - for what seemed the tenth time in the past five minutes or so - she regarded his expression in amusement. Always trying to make out as if he was some perfect cherub, incapable of any wrong-doing. Oh, how that was inverted in reality.
Finally deciding to eat - as conversation seemed to hit a momentary lull - she set about doing so, knowing that allowing her hunger to continue would bring about certain..unwarranted behavior. While many girls pretended to be dainty of palate when out on dates, she thought it entirely pointless, and so did the complete opposite.

"I'll remind you of that." Sirius said with a smirk. He turned his attention to his own food, but he kept glancing up at her.
He had never been so interested in a person before, so much so that he could turn away from his own meal- which was practically blasphemy- to pay attention to them. He took note of everything about Maddie, as if he was storing it away for later in some back corner of his mind. Everything from the way she held her fork, to how she moved the food on her plate before spearing it, even how she looked when she took a drink of her butterbeer. There was no doubt about it, Sirius Black was finally enamored.

Not at all self-conscious at the attention she seemed bound to garner due to her..enthusiasm towards her lunch, Madison simply acted as if it was normal. The thought that Sirius Black was interested enough to ignore his own food to watch, however, was almost enough to make her laugh. She didn't bring light to it, though, until she'd eaten her fill. After a refill of the butterbeer, she then held the mug between her hands, finally glancing across the table again.
"Now that I can think properly again, I think you said something about getting more fireworks while we were here?" She posed it as an implied question, but didn't actually need the clarification. She was simply being polite about it.

"Fireworks?" Sirius repeated vaguely before blinking. "Oh, right... fireworks. Yes." He shook his head vaguely and turned from staring at her to attending to his now slightly cold food, managing to shovel it down in minutes flat. Not attractive, he was sure, but there was still stuff to be done today, and he thought she might forgive him for the lack of dining dignity.
Sirius placed the money on the table for their food and stood up, offering her a hand. "Shall we?"

Finding the lapse in attention interesting, Madison chose not to make light of it. She knew her behavior throughout this whole affair had been changing, just as his was. It would prove something to mull over later, but for the time being, there were still things to be done on this trip. Rising smoothly from her seat, she answered his question by taking his hand - going so far as to twine her fingers with his.
"As this is your venture now, I'll let you take the lead."

Sirius grinned, holding her hand firmly and enjoying the feeling of having her hand entwined with his. "That's probably a good thing- I'm not a very good follower. I get distracted too easily." He grinned endearingly and led the way out of the Three Broomsticks and off towards Zonkos. His gait held no sense of immediacy, and he watched the other people- few, as it wasn't a Hogsmeade weekend at Hogwarts- stroll by curiously. Sirius preferred life to be exciting, but he didn't like to feel rushed. He liked being able to explore at his own pace, usually with someone else at his side. In this case, it was Maddie, and he couldn't be happier.

Madison laughed at the mention of distraction, of half a mind to agree with him. It seemed unnecessary since he'd actually admitted to it, though, so she refrained. Following his lead out of the pub, she was easily able to match his stride and keep pace - of course, that wasn't very difficult at the rate they were walking. Having a hand still in his also encouraged that, and while it was a reminder of why she was here, she also took the time to look around as they walked.
The street being mostly empty ensured a certain measure of peace, and the sights themselves were relaxing when not packed with students and other residents. Thankfully, less people meant their presence attracted less attention - not that many would spare more than one glance. "I trust you still have plans for these fireworks you're planning on buying?" She finally asked, after there had been a quiet lull for several moments. It wasn't that she needed to talk, just that curiosity prompted the question.

"Of course." Sirius tugged gently on her hand as they reached Zonko's, and he held the door for her on the way inside. "I promised you fireworks and a picnic, didn't I? I always keep my word to pretty ladies." He grinned at her and expertly weaved his way through fake wands, holey cauldrons, all the way to the small corner of the store dedicated to fireworks. He barely glanced at the labels as he picked up first one pack and then another- he had done this particular run so often he could do it in his sleep.
"This should do nicely... Did you want anything? My treat."
