The trip out of the corridor to the kitchens had taken no more than two minutes, and after a moment of clarification, Devon led Reese out of the castle itself and out onto the sprawling lawns that surrounded the castle. Taking a deep breath of the air - smelling faintly of fall, which was rapidly approaching - he smiled a bit and regarded his companion.
"Now that we're out here, shall we just walk and see where we end up, or is there somewhere specific you want to go?"

"We can just walk if you want." Reese said smiling. She brushed some of her hair out of her eyes and tucked it behind her ear. She loved walking out on the Hogwart's grounds. Not to mention it was a beautiful day. "So...tell me something about yourself." Reese said keeping in stride with Devon.

Surprised a bit to have that sort of ultimatum posed, Devon was silent in thought for a moment. The conversation had died down into a lull due to them exhausting the subject of Quidditch earlier, so he supposed he shouldn't have been surprised that other things came up. It wasn't as if they could just walk in silence for quite a while and just be comfortable about it.
"Well..not that I've been practicing that much lately, but playing guitar is my other big hobby outside of Quidditch."

"Really?" Reese said genuinely interested. She loved music and was fascinated and impressed by anyone that could play an instrument. Reese did have Muggle friends because she lived in urban London, so she was up to speed even on the Muggle bands that were popular. She was very proud of the fact that she had a wizarding life and a Muggle one as well. "How long have you been playing for? I've never had a knack for any kind of instrument."

"Well, I've had several since I was about seven. My parents wanted to get me into music while I was still young and impressionable I guess. Didn't stop me from picking up Quidditch and other sports a year later, but.." He shrugged slightly, not thinking that too remarkable. His parents were the type to want to keep their kids busy at all times - to keep them from getting into trouble.
"Not really that impressive at it. I only got to where I could play chords besides the basics about a year ago."

"Still impressive though!" Reese said earnestly. She could understand having a second past time to Quidditch. She liked to be accumulated to all the things in the world. She was going to try everything, even if she was horrible at it.

Devon shrugged in answer, keeping his own opinion of it to himself. "What about you? Any hobbies besides flying around the pitch, or is that your only escape right now?"

Reese smiled thoughtfully, "For now it is, other than creating outfits to put together, I like taking picture with a Muggle camera." It was a weird obsession. But her Muggle friends really taught her the beauty of a still picture. "It feels like capturing time for a moment. It will always stay that way, not moving. It's really amazing."

"I've never really thought about it that way." Devon's experience when it came to pictures were only those of the wizarding variety. His family's home was littered with them - micro-movies in frames, as he liked to call them. "But I give you credit for having the patience to take only one shot. Don't think I could manage that too well."

Reese smiled, she was happy Devon didn't think that she was totally crazy. She really never told anyone in the wizarding world that she liked to take Muggle photographs. "Are your family all wizards? " Reese asked.

"Yeah, my parents and sister are, and my cousins' family are as well. Just one big magical family." Devon shrugged a bit, not seeming to think it odd. "What about yours?" Fair was fair when it came to trading information, and he thought he'd get an answer. It just seemed that the conversation was already going its' own natural course.

"My mother is full-blood, as far back as anyone can remember. My father is half-blood, my grandmother on his side is a Muggle." Reese said, "She thinks its fascinating being with wizards, it doesn't bother her at all."

"Well, that's always a good thing. I never see my grandparents on either side, but that's just a weird situation. At least your grandmother accepts her family and seems happy about it." Hoping the conversation didn't progress much farther along that line, Devon tried to change the subject - though not so subtly. "Where is it you live outside of school?"

"I live in London. In the city." Reese said. Devon seemed not to want to talk about his family so she decided to go along. "I love the city, but it is sure nice to be somewhere where there isn't a car horn blazing every hour of the day." She laughed. She loved Hogwarts' grounds they were by far her favorite place to be while in school. "Where do you live?"

"Birmingham. Living there all my life has made me pretty much used to the big city life. Unfortunately, I usually have to spend the summers with my cousin now, since it's quite a trip from there to London, especially around the time the term starts." Shaking his head, he shoved his hands into his pockets in an absent manner. "In a way, I guess you could say I live in two places." He grinned a bit at how that sounded.
