Arabella sat on the steps of the entrance hall looking at people pass. Friends, more than friends, and teachers. She rolled her head around and blue a strand of auburn hair out of her face. Someone walked past her. They looked right at her and she smiled. Then they looked away. "Really?" Arabella murmured to herself.

The entrance hall always seemed to be the perfect junction to see students from all four Houses. Most avoided each other like the plague, especially if their house colors happened to be green and silver. Not even trying to count how many Gryffindors and Ravenclaws she passed on her way out to the grounds, Madison passed close to someone sitting on the steps. A glance in passing told her it wasn't someone she really knew - though she had thought so at first.
Adjusting her grip on the bookbag hanging over her shoulder, she simply walked past and would have kept right on her merry way - but that someone she passed didn't seem to appreciate the brush-off. So she stopped and turned back around. "You look a little familiar..do I know you?" It then hit her that they were in the same House, but this girl was two years ahead of her.

Parker was headed down the main stairs when he almost collided with two girls standing there. "Oh! So sorry!" He said as he managed to miss them by doing a funny little hop. However in the process, he dropped his book bag and it crashed down the rest of the stairs. Parker moaned as he heard a small crunch coming from his book bag and new that his ink bottle had just broken and spilled over all his work. Parker looked up at the girls, which he noted were from his house, "Arabella and Madison, right? Parker ran his hands through his hair as he stooped to pick up his now stained bag. "Ah, well, this Divination essay was never really good." Parker shrugged as he pulled out his essay, now sopping with ink. He had just finished it that morning.

Arabella smirked. "I finished mine, Parker. If you'd like, you can borrow it. Use it as a reference." she suggested removing her Divination paper and extending it in Parker's direction. She realized she was being rude to Madison. "As Parker just stated, I'm Arabella. I'm in your house." she grinned looking at Madison.

"Thanks" Parker said, and took the proffered essay; he really didn't understand it anyways. "I'm Parker, by the way." He said absentmindedly.

"Nice to meet you." Bella smiled shaking his hand. "It's good." she said pointing the essay. "People mistake Hufflepuffs for daft idiots when really most of us are quite intelligent." Arabella ran her hand through her dark red hair and sighed.

"At somethings, Divination was never my forte." Parker sighed. He looked around the Entrance Hall. Students were walking by, seeming to not notice the trio that congregated on the steps.

"Is it anyone's?" she laughed. "I can't name more than 10 people who have an honest knack for Divination. Plenty are good but a colossal amount are mediocre." she said. Arabella frowned. "That was mean of me." she sighed shaking her head. "Let's pretend I never said that most people aren't very good at it, shall we?" she smiled.

Parker smiled, he was one of those mediocre, barely scraping by with a pass. He didn't exactly care though, Divination wasn't one of those subjects that he needed to become an Auror. "I still can't figure out why they even have Divination, it seems like such a waste."
