Twila made an impatient noise and paced around the small cupboard, picking up potions bottles and then putting them back down. She had sent Aquila one of her infamous notes today, telling her to show up here. The girl had three minutes. Twila waited for no one.
The Slytherin queen looked more imposing than ever, in tight designer black pants and a clingy purple tank top that showed an inch of flat stomach. Around her neck was a simple diamond necklace, which she fingered absently. Her hair was in a low ponytail at her neck. She had thought over what Aquila had said, and she thought she might have an offer for the girl. One that would work for the both of them.

Sauntering down the hall in outrageously tall heels as usual, which she moved in seemingly effortlessly and surprisingly quite quietly, Aquila was fairly satisfied with herself. Finally she had received a note from Twila after their last encounter a few days prior. Though the wait had seemed long in her anticipation, she was content that it hadn’t taken too long. Too long would’ve been a bad sign. She only had a couple of minutes but she could see the cupboard, which Twila was no doubt raiding for one of her poisons.
She did wonder though if she would be rejected. Studying the possibility in her head, mentally she mapped out the effects it would cause. As far as she knew, she hadn’t caused any major offense to the Slytherin Court so likely the worst thing Twila would do was say no and that would be the end of it if Aquila wouldn’t argue. Well or at least majorly piss her off. But the possibility didn’t faze her. Such an answer would hiccup her plans slightly. But in the long run, the Slytherin Queen would be sorry for her dismissal.
Aquila peered into the cupboard watching Twila and leaned against the doorway, crossing one black heel in front of the other.
“You called?”

Twila looked up when Aquila entered, gesturing for her to close the door behind her. Her face gave away nothing of what she was thinking as she studied the other girl, her violet eyes taking in every single detail.
"You want in." It wasn't a question. Twila's tone was silky, and yet dangerous- the tone she usually reserved for people who were on very thin ice. "I want to know why. No colorful delusions of grandeur, or ass-kissing to me... I want to know exactly why you want what I can give." Twila was aware that Aquila had told her in the library what she wanted, and what she was offering in return, but Twila wanted to hear it again. If the reason changed, even by one word, she would be less likely to believe it and therefore less likely to negotiate. Still, Twila didn't think the other girl was bluffing. She didn't seem dumb enough to try and trick the Slytherin queen.
"I also want to know- down to every last microscopic detail- what I will get in return, should I extend my favor to you."

Aquila stepped out of the doorway, slightly annoyed at being bossed around even nonverbally, but followed suite with Twila and shut the door. The lighting of the potions cupboard was dim, darkening Aquila’s features. Like Twila, she was on edge and never took her eyes off the other girl, watching every movement. She listened carefully to Twila’s voice. Clearly this was a test. Like most things in life were. Twila had heard her in the library. She had heard every word Aquila said. So she already knew the answer to her first question. Unless, she thought Aquila had been lying to her, pulling it out of thin air. Which was a reasonable paranoia. No doubt Twila had had her fill of people feeding her verbal bullshit. With ease, Aquila recalled their conversation in the library. She changed her wording-people generally found it creepy when she repeated what she said word for word-but with the same basic
“I told you. Not for your social status. Not for your fan base. Not because I’m in love with your precious Lucius Malfoy. But for the bigger picture. There are greater and better things out there then the annoying clamorers you have following you around all the time or your black market of poisons. Forces out there you can’t even imagine. Forces that will cause change. The same forces that caused that body to end up on the Ministry’s doorstep. You remember, the muggle and the skeleton.”
She thought seriously as to how to answer Twila’s next request. It would be impossible to reveal to her every microscopic detail. “Besides the fact, that you obviously will have allied yourself with a highly talented spellcaster?”

Twila's brows rose in mild defiance at the mention of "her" Lucius Malfoy, but other than that she showed no reaction to anything Aquila said. Actually, she didn't even seem like she was going to answer, as she didn't say a word after Aquila was done. After what had to seem like eternity, she nodded slightly. "Yes, besides that..." Twila said coyly, picking up a vial and looking at the label before shoving it in her pocket.
"These forces... what could I possibly get from them? Don't get me wrong- I see what they're capable of, and I see advantages to alignment with them- but I'm only one woman, Aquila. Who's to garuntee I will get the attention I..." She smirked, tilting her head forward slightly in amusement. "Deserve?"

“Oh Twila,” Aquila said with a smile. “You will definitely reap whatever you put out.” She leaned against a wall. “I am not the master therefore I cannot tell you the length of what he will reward you. But I can tell you this, there will be a change. And the change will overthrow the ministry. Those who cooperate with my master will receive a place of power and importance in his new world. Those who do nothing will serve those in power. And the ones that oppose will die.” She stood up and walked closer to Twila, her eyes burning intensely with a sadistic smile on her face. “You have a chance to be more than just a blackmarket potion maker or the queen of Slytherin which will be all gone once you leave this place. You have the chance to be something great. Something that the Wizard Community will come to remember and fear.”

Twila was silent again, her expression neutral as she watched Aquila come closer, listening to every word the girl said. This could be her chance to be something great, something beyond what she had already achieved. Granted, she would be starting at the bottom, but that was how she had got to where she was now. She always overcame obstacles, why would this time be any different.
"You want in? Fine. You have a place in my court, you shall recieve my protection directly, and you will be mine- just under me, therefore third in the order after Lucius and I. Satisfy you?" Twila straightened her back, staring at Aquila. "That is the best deal I can offer you, I'm afraid. Take it or leave it."

Aquila smiled in friendship and extended her hand. "I'll take it," she said immediately. "I offer you whatever services I can provide."

Twila, normally not big on shaking hands, extended hers and shook it. "Well, in your own words Aquila: 'I want in.'" She knew the other girl would know what that meant.
