Lucius was walking through the corridors listening for any other footsteps or sign of life. He only met a ghost, who barely looked up from a trance it seemed to be in. Quietly Lucius slid into an unused classroom and shut the door. Twila was obviously not here yet, he would just have to wait. He was wearing a casual suit of the darkest black. It made his shock of pale blond hair and pale skin seem to glow. He paced the classroom and checked his rather expensive watch. Impatiently, he sat down at the the unused Professors chair and began to make objects levitate.

As she made her way down the suspiciously empty halls of the second floor, Twila's heels were the only things that made any noise. For once, Twila was quite happy to see Lucius and to listen to his somewhat bothersome narrations. A lot had happened over the last few days, and Lucius was just the person to help Twila deal with them. (At least, as much as Twila let anyone ever help her with anything.)
Twila cast one last look around, assuring herself that they were alone, before she slid unnoticed into the classroom, her presence announced only by the gentle click of the lock sliding into place. Lucius' "Belladonna" (as he called her,) was a particular vision of loveliness in her black tank top and short black skirt. Her jet hair was tied with a simple black ribbon (giving her the impression of an innocent school girl,) and it cascaded gently to her waist. Belaying the innocent look was her elegant, two inch heels, which brought her to his shoulder when she was standing next to him. The only bit of color on her was her silver snake bracelet and her violet eyes. "Lucius." She said quietly in greeting, walking over and pulling out three vials from- somewhere (it was hard to tell where she had conjured them from, as it didn't look like she had any pockets,)- and placed them in front of him on the desk. Finished with that errand, she picked up a curious paperweight from the professor's desk and examined it.

"Ah, Belladonna," Lucius drawled as he picked up the vials and inspected them, "You've managed to acquire them I see. Now, how much shall we charge for them..." He surveyed her appearance before setting the vials carefully in his pocket. Twila was his business partner, and he trusted her, as far as he could trust someone. He undoubtedly had his guard on all the time, but she was a valuable partner to their under the radar business. "I heard you had a spot of trouble with a Hufflepuff. Getting careless?"

"More than the usual- those weren't easy to make, even with my particular skills." She hopped up to sit on the desk, her long legs dangling just above the floor. Twila wasn't short by any means, but next to Lucius, she looked particularly dainty. She smoothed her skirt and wrinkled her nose in distaste at his comment, letting out a small growl before saying, "It was handled. No trouble at all." Not that Twila would have told him if the girl actually had harmed her, but in this case it wasn't a lie. The only way Lucius would ever find out someone had ruffled her was if she ended up unconcious in the hospital wing, which had yet to happen, despite some rather close calls.
"I hear Narcissa Black turned you down again." Twila's tone was innocent enough, but the smirk on her lips betrayed her dislike of the Black family. She normally wouldn't prod at Lucius' wounds, but after his little comment, well, he needed to be reminded she was his equal, not Crabbe or Goyle. "It's too bad." She batted her eyelashes. She herself thought Lucius would be a rather good catch, should he ever learn to just shut up. It was when he opened his mouth that she was reminded why his physical charms didn't draw her in. He had his uses, sure, but he was also a pain in the ass. A very stubborn one, at that.
"I somehow don't think that's what you called me here for, however."

"Where did you hear that?" Lucius snapped. He did not like having his personal life, or non-personal life, broadcasted. Lucius sneered still fuming about her all-knowing air. Oh how she knew his motives. "Let's just say, that I want to take our, how shall we say it, business to a larger scale." Lucius desired power and influence, and he was going to get it. Twila knew all the right people, she would help him gain even more status that he already had. "I've been told, you have connections. Or is that just a rumor going around"haha, i was trying to think of something better, if you have any ideas I will change it!

Twila suppressed a laugh, but her eyes lit up with an inner mirth. Point, LaCroix. "Around." She said coyly with a smirk.
He had her interest when he started talking again, and Twila's smirk vanished, replaced with a casually blank expression. That was always how one could read her- if she was really taking you seriously and considering what you had to say, you couldn't tell what she was thinking. "Larger scale? How so?"
She snorted, some of her interest clearly failing. Her connections. Well, there was nothing to be gained for her there, it was all on his side. "Of course you know I have connections." She rolled her eyes. "I'm not the alpha female of Slytherin for nothing, you know."

"Things are changing in the wizarding world. And it is not hard to see who will come out of all this on the better side." Lucius began in a long drawl. He pulled each word to it's maximum holding time. Lucius was a person of points. He wanted in on something, and was going to make his demands clear and simple. "Of course, being still in school, I find it prudent not to start anything that will....erm...damage my academic pursuits. However, under the radar black markets are sure to be a necessity for those who are stirring up the wizarding world. We could make a huge profit you know...." Lucius had stopped pacing and focused his stare on Twila, she was going to help him achieve his latest ambition. He knew that she too was in the business for status and wealth. She bought and blackmailed her way to the top, there was no reason why he could not do the same.

"You want me to become a caterer." Twila said coldly, her violet eyes narrowing as she looked at Lucius. "To the highest class of murderers, I'm sure, instead of just anyone who will buy my wares and keep their mouths shut." It didn't need to be said that he was talking about the muggle murderer(s).
"What I want to know is, why? What do I gain from it?" She could see what Lucius wanted out of it- he always had to be on top of everything. He was never content until he was the best. Twila herself was happy where she was, even if it was number two on the social scale (just under Lucius,) or simply a marketer to petty thieves and idiots who thought they had the gall it took to kill other people. She didn't care about the money (though it was nice,) she cared about power and knowledge, and herself. And in this case, herself was getting a little disgruntled at being Lucius' pawn.

"I have my reasons." Lucius snapped. He wanted out of this petty little black market they had going, he wanted power, recognition, and security once he left Hogwarts. But he didn't want to go in alone. While he tried to be the mastermind, the puppeteer of all his ventures, he needed someone to be recognized beside him. He knew the risks of broadening the business to the muggle killers. That's why he needed a business partner. He didn't want to go down (if he were to go down) alone.

"Then my answer is no, Lucius. You've given me no reason to believe I can gain anything that I want from this venture. I guess you're out of luck, if this is indeed the end of our partnership... We both know you aren't capable of my brand of magic." Twila smiled, showing the faintest bit of white teeth. Most people would think she was being apologetic when she smiled that way, but Lucius knew it was a threat. If Twila backed out at all, neither of them would profit. Lucius may be the salesman, but Twila was definitely the driving force behind their operation.
"So I ask you again, what's in it for me?"

"Security, Twila." Lucius said, angrily. He could not afford to lose her as a partner, "You may be comfortable in this alpha position now. But... you won't be at Hogwarts forever, my dear. It's time to start looking at the bigger picture." His eyes were boring into hers. Her ignorance of the future baffled him. It was time they started focusing on building what was to become a very profitable future, if only she stuck to their plan. "While it is risky to align ourselves with those muggle killers, can you imagine the power to be gained if we win their favor. You could be the Alpha of more than just a silly House."

Twila hopped off the desk, her heels making a small noise as she landed with perfect precision. She moved slightly so that she and Lucius were toe-to-toe, and she stared back just as angrily as he did. "And who will provide my security, Lucius? You?" She knew better than any that security was a false notion- her parents had taught her that. Granted, Lucius didn't know of her less than pleasant birth. It was better that way.
"I am looking at the bigger picture. I just happen to be looking in the other direction. The ministry, bumbling bunch of idiots they are, will catch these people. You want to align yourself with them? We're going to fall, Lucius. It's better to search for this 'protection' you speak of elsewhere."

"And where would that be? The dim-witted Ministry? They can barely hold up themselves!" snapped Lucius. He saw her point though, it was very risky to align themselves with these people. But the power associated with it was almost too overwhelming. "So, what do you suggest then?"

"I suggest we sit and wait, just as we have been. Wait to see which way the wind blows. Then, we make our choice." Twila's eyes dropped from his own, fixating on something else for a minute. In the dim lighting, it almost looked like her pale cheeks turned a faint pink, but it was really hard to tell.
"If these people prove their merit, then fine. We align ourselves with them." Her voice was very quiet, and the expression on her face was an odd one. Twila never showed anything but calm reserve to Lucius, and that definitely wasn't what was coming from her now.

"That's your plan, sit and wait?" Lucius said coldly, one thing he did understand was power and social climbing. People didn't advance by just doing nothing. He was getting tired of waiting for opportunities, running a far too easy operation under the noses of all the teachers.
