Nikita waked through the common room. How bord she was. The ran in her pocket squeaked and she smacked it hoping no one saw. She snuck him in here on a regular basis. The only real other worry besides being caught was Stella. The owl would perch on the window every now and again but that was only when she had a letter, or if she wanted attention. Both of those were very very rare. She let Hubrit quickly crawl out of her pocket and run to the window. He scampered away and she sighed. Her only friend.
Nikita and making friends were two words you would never hear in the same sentence, ever. Her long hair drifted over her shoulders as her brilliant blue eyes looked around. Everyone who looked at her looked away as her eyes glared back at them. They were almost animal like. Tonight she was hoping it would just disappear. But as always the hairy little problem she carried would always follow her. In the mugal world it was extremely dangerous, she would normally run off into the night and lock herself in an old insane asylum that was in ton. IN the basement it was very secure and the moon almost never shown through the area but it was still a curse.

Twila chewed on her nail, leaning closer over her book, so much so that nose was almost touching the paper. Her quill flew across the pages, leaving behind a trail of squiggles, numbers, and writing that would make absolutely no sense to anyone else, but to Twila, it was the answer to the question she had spent months trying to find the answer to. Her raven hair fell in a curtain around her book, keeping anyone from reading her scribbles. Then again, no one would ever get close to Twila. Not unless they literally had a death wish.
Twila ran her fingers through her damp hair and blew out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. This was probably the most ruffled anyone had ever seen Slytherin's alpha female. She chewed on the end of her quill absently, managing to look up as she thought she saw something by the window. A rat. Twila smirked. What better way to test out her latest experiment? Usually Twila stole cats when no one was around, because they were easier to deal with than owls. Still, rats? Even better.
Twila shifted on the couch in front of the fire, curling her toes under and pulling her notebook back into her lap. Almost done.

Raven's eyes drifted over to the girl everyone seemed to be afraid of as well. That was nice to have two of them in the same room. Raven smiled evily to herself as she saw two girls absently talking to each other ranting and going off about things like two little preps. She pulled the frog out of its cotaining and put it in one of their purses easily without being noticed. She just walked by and slipped it in. The girls screamed and threw the frog at someone else causing a fight. Raven bit her tounge just to stop laughing and went and sat in a chair not to far away from the other girl that everyone seemed to stay away from
How she found this amusing. She found the frog last night and decided to use it for mischeif. What else was new! She flicked her shadow black hair from her face once more. A few of the guys were laughing because of this whole scene, this was normal for Nikita. Always causing trouble between everyone. She had been transfered to quite a few wizard schools. About three to be exact. This would be her first year here. She originally came from a school in the US. She had no english accent what so ever, and didn't like having to move, again.
Her bright blue eyes drifted over to the 'alpha' looking girl and she sighed. "You own this place huh?' she asked. She already knew the answer but what was the problem asking. Well there were a few but she had no problem talking to someone who thought they were boss. This person seemed a lot different from the others she has kicked off there perches, maybe she wouldn't be as much of a pain to her

Twila lifted her gaze when she was addressed, raising a brow as she did so. Just who did this girl think she was, anyway? No one just addressed Lucius' "Belladonna". Not even his usual blonde idiots he called girlfriends. "Who in the bloody hell are you?" Twila growled, not welcoming the interruption.
She sized the other girl up, not at all impressed with her. She pressed the book closer to her chest, keeping it away from the stranger. She didn't think she had seen her before, and the girl didn't have an accent. Twila's own accent was somewhere between english and french, which was the language she spoke fluently at home.
"And for your information- yes, I do."

A small smile twitch at the corners of Nikita's mouth. "And as for your earlier question the bloody hell I am Nikita" she said flicking her hair back. A goth in these times would scare just about anyone. This person intersted her quite a bit. "So miss priss aren't you just the bees knees. Bet your used to everyone kissing your butt and being afraid of you. Dont' expect that from me" she said
She would get one thing straight with this girl, she wasn't kissing up to anyone. She knew this girl might want war, and Nikita was ready to give it to her if it came to that. Though for whatever reason she didn't feel like fighting today. She just did some silly stupid pranks that meant nothing to her today. She was almost feeling homesick though she would never admit it. At least she had her pets. They just lived out in the forest, she would visist them whenever she could.
However that was becoming harder and harder with every new school. She sighed and leaned her head back resting it against the back of the chair. She felt sick, and that mixed with homesick just wasn't making a great combo.

Twila rolled her eyes, stretching languidly before the girl got the idea to move from the chair she was in to the couch. Twila wasn't phased by the goth girl- in fact, she found her pathetic. "Whatever." She said calmly. Despite what her stupid housemates thought of the girl, Twila thought her attacks and attempts at creating pandemonium were weak. Embarrassing to the Slytherin house, really.
Well, it wasn't like she'd make it into the Slytherin court anytime soon. The court was only for the best, the brightest, and even though it wasn't a sole requirement, the hottest. Twila didn't see any of those qualities in Nikita.
"Why would I expect that?" Twila asked mildly, not looking up as she began to scribble in her notebook again. "Any reputation I have made for myself is well earned, I assure you."

Nikita rolled her eyes at the girls words. "Sure, you might think that. All that you are is stuck up, and you think you are better then everyone else because everyone thinks you are so hot and you are on the court" she said. Nikita had a way of making people just feel horrible. Even the most happy people she brought down. As for tricks and mischief, well she was just getting started.
Most would say she wanted attention, but these were so she didn't get attention, so people would leave her alone. She smiled as she thought of something small that she could cause trouble with. That would come at dinner time, which she normally missed. It was a rare occurrence that you ever saw her eat. She more or less starved herself for whatever reason. She had been taken to the hospital quite a few times for passing out from the cause of not eating. She thought she was fat and would do some extreme things to deal with it. She pulled a cigarette out of her pocket and lit it on from the fire that was burning in the fire place. Oh how she would get in trouble if the teacher caught her.
A dirty habit that she hadn't been able to ever kick. Of course this also came with hanging out with the wrong people in wrong towns. This was one of the reasons that she never got adopted, but no one could ever replace her family. She missed them terribly but she couldn't ever bring them back, that was the way it was. She blew some of the smoke out and some kids glared at her. "Put that out, your going to get all of us in trouble" one said starting to walked away. She could clear a room like you wouldn't believe.

"Are you trying to make some sort of point? It's rather dull, if you are." Twila turned the page, not even bothering to look up at the other girl. She had had much worse said about her, and frankly, it didn't bother her then- why should the opinion of one freak- a new freak, at that- bother her? Twila needed nothing and no one. She didn't even really need Lucius, though he did make things rather convenient for her.
"You don't even know me.' Twila stated, clearly bored. She paused in her writing for a moment, moving her snake bracelet around her wrist absently before she began to scribble with renewed fervor. Almost finished.
Twila was getting tired of the girl- she was more irritating than a gnat, and she had the verbal insult skills of a second year. It just might be worth it to test her little experiment on a human, after all...

She rolled her eyes and blew more smoke out making people start to cough. "I think I know you better then you think. You are an 'outcast' in your family. Your mom was banging some other guy and you just happened to come along from that little affair. You pass yourself off as a pureblood because you don't want anyone treating you like dirt. And that nasty Lucius guy is just a tool in your trade. It's a kinda you scratch my back I won't turn yours to the wolves kind of relationship" she said
"And as for the trying to make a point thing this is what it comes down to, you are a spoiled brat who thinks she owns everyone and is only 'loyal' to the few REAL friends that you have. So you know what?" she said starting to get up. "Good day to you" she said saluting Twila with her middle finger before disppearing. She thought about setting her book on fire and smiled at the thought but didn't. She wasn't feeling good so it wouldn't be as fun.
She got to her room and puked her guts out. She felt like crap! Nikita sat on the floor and crossed her legs sitting indian style. She moaned and leaned forward resting her head on her knee. Her hair fell like a veil around her face as she sat trying to breath again. Of course she had to feel like crap now.

Twila's violet eyes flashed, but she showed no other sign of acknowledgement. While Twila wasn't necessarily hurt by Nikita's comments (she had long ago accepted the facts in her life,) she was a little irritated at the other girl's cheek. Well, she would soon figure out exactly why Twila was so feared.
******
Twila pulled her hair up into a messy knot, tying it as she lit the fire under her cauldron. She was alone, as always, in her private lab. She ignored the squeaking from the cage to her left as she flipped through her notebook, looking at the various numbers and symbols. A half cup of wormwood, a single mistletoe berry, a pinch of ground snake skull... On and on Twila's instructions seemed to go, until two hours later, she was staring at a potion that was a deep, almost sapphire blue. Twila picked up an eye dropper and dipped it into the potion before pulling the squirming rat out of the cage. She pressed the dropper into it's mouth, waiting until she was sure the rat had swallowed part of the solution before pulling the dropper out. She set the rat down, watching it spasm on the table, moving in drunken circles. Twila watched for a moment before taking another dropper, this one containing a simple antidote which she squirted in the rat's mouth, picking it up so it couldn't escape. She sighed as it immediately ceased the drunken squeaking and began trying to escape again. Damn. Not right yet.
She picked up the first stopper again, her eyes cold as she stared at the rat. It had taken her thirty minutes to catch the damn thing, and her pants sported a nasty hole in the knee, but it was worth it. Revenge was always so sweet.
She fed the rat poison again, this time not bothering with the antidote. She would simply find a new victim next time.
*****
A present was on Nikita's nightstand when she woke up in the morning. Though she would never be able to prove it, should she go to the professors or the ministry, the dead rat on her nightstand was proof enough: she had made a dangerous enemy.

Nikita looked at the dead rat and shrugged. That was in no way Hubrit. That rat was gone off in the woods. She took the rat and gave it to her owl before getting changed. She would just not pay attention to her. Of course she was still worried about her puking earlier and wasn't sure if she would do it again later. Though she did prefer not having her head in the toilet it was what it was. She sighed and brushed her hair looking in the mirror. She didn't want to cover up her scar today. No one would know she had it with all the make up she put on it to get rid it.
How she would always miss her family. She went into the common room and sat in on of the chairs, she was just mesmerized by the fire for what seemed like hours to her. It started changing and forming into almost pictures. Things she was remembering from the night she lost her family. People started to look over at her and then the fire. Some were amazed others somewhat scared and then others felt sorry for her.
She snapped out of her day dream and the fire went back to normal. She blinked a few times and pushed her hair out of her face. More started to notice the scar and she would just twitch and they would leave her be. Hatred started to fill her as she sat there. Oh this girl was going to pay, severely. No it wasn't her rat but she liked rats and she could let her think it was Hubrit.
A little surprised would wake Twila up in the middle of the night, or surprise her when she was alone at least. This was war for now. Nikita wasn't staying here very long. She closed her eyes and was going to have to do something drastic to get her kicked out this time. How she hated having to do things like this to get kicked out. This time she just wasn't going back to school

Twila ran the file over her nails, her long legs stretched out on her impeccably made bed. Twila was only a tiny bit of a neat freak, and it showed in everything she did- there was always an OCD-like attention to detail, from her clothes, to her schoolwork, and certainly to her area of the dorm room. She pushed a piece of hair behind her ear, leaning back against the pillows she had propped up on her bed. She had no doubt her "gift" had been discovered by now, and let the girl see it as a warning. The queen of Slytherin hadn't climbed her way to the top lightly- she had earned it through cunning, dedication, and the wrecklessness it took to do things others wouldn't even dream of. This girl might be a momentary annoyance, but Twila had no doubt that she wouldn't ever become much more than that. She didn't have the brains, and she didn't have the grace and intelligence it took in order to compete in the complicated dance of whim that was the Slytherin court.
Twila knew better than any what it took to rise to the top, and she knew what it was like to fall, as well. She was as high as she could go, at least while she was still in school, and when she was gone, well, another would take her place. But not until then. This freak wasn't going to be the one to unseat her. Hell, it was impossible to unseat Twila- she had nothing to lose. She had no one she cared enough about that she considered indispensable, and she had no status outside of her position as alpha female that really mattered. She lived for her position, and she wasn't about to be replaced easily.
Twila rose from her bed and changed in a clean pair of black pants and a black corset top. She added a silver clip in her hair that was shaped like a star. It contrasted nicely with her dark hair, and besides, silver was so much less tacky than gold. The Slytherin queen always had to look her best.
She descended the stairs, pausing only a moment to cast a cool look in Nikita's direction. Let the games begin.
