Bio:
.Name. Severus Snape
.Nicknames. Sev (only called this by Lily), Snivillus (called this by James and Sirius)
.Gender. Male
.Age and Year at Hogwarts. 13, 3rd year
.Bloodlines. Half-blood
.Father. Tobias Snape
.Mother. Eileen Prince
.Siblings. None
.Residence. Spinner's End
Appearance:
.Height. 5'8"
.Hair. Black, somewhat long, greasy
.Eye. Also black, very, VERY cold
.Body type. Somewhat skinny and scrawny, somewhat tall and gangly
.Fashion. He always wears black robes during the school year (even during special events), and he wears all black when having to dress in muggle clothes, as well.
.Any other distingushing features. He has a very long, hooked nose, and very pale skin.
Personality:
.Characteristics and traits. Severus is very introverted, cold, grudge-bearing, and somewhat moody. He is often bullied, being not very physically strong. However, he is extremely intelligent and a very good wizard, albeit he keeps this mostly to himself. He knows more curses and hexes than most of the seventh years, and is pretty good at the dark arts. Severus also only really likes Lily Evans, and a few other Slytherins here and there. Severus is not one to forget a past crime, and he will hate you and your offspring until the day he dies. Most of the time, people only see Severus as a cold, cynical, weak wizard, when he is actually a cold, cynical, strong wizard.
.Hobbies. Inventing new spells and potions, making snide comments, studying
.Likes. Lily, the Dark Arts, Slytherins
.Dislikes. James, Sirius, Gryffindors (in general), cocky bastards, being called a coward, almost everything that isn't Lily
.Strengths. Intelligent, quiet, is good at hiding his emotions
.Weaknesses. Physically weak, impatient, cynical, judging, stubborn, hot temper (usually only when called a coward)
.Odd Habits. Well, he's constantly making up spells and adjustments to potions and the like, and he doesn't wash his hair that often...
Wizard:
.Wand. 13 1/2 inches, ebony and dragon heartstring
.Best subjects. Potions, DADA (knowing so many curses and whatnot make it easy to counter them), nonverbal spells
.Worst subjects. He doesn't really have any 'worst subjects', but he does not enjoy Muggle Studies one bit (why did he take it, then? Oh, simply to fill up a class)
.Pets. None
.History of character.
Severus was born in and grew up in Spinner's End, a nasty little poor district that was somewhat close to where Lily Evans lived. His parents argued all the time, and Severus constantly tried to be out of the house, which is why he befriended Lily even before they headed to Hogwarts. His mother was a pure-blood, but his father was a muggle, which gave Severus a slight dislike of all muggles- after all, Tobias was a very unpleasant man. Then, the next muggle he had contact with on a regular basis was Petunia, Lily's sister- who was also a very, very unpleasant person to be around.
It was no surprise when Severus got the letter; he had already used magic and the like. It was also no surprise that he was sorted into the Slytherin house, befriending a questionable group of friends. He was also favored by prefect Lucius Malfoy ever since he first came; however, even with all of the 'interesting' friends, he still has a close relationship with Lily. Severus doesn't really make a spectacle of himself, even in classes where he could excel. No, instead, he prefers to stay quiet and get through the classes while also making up his own spells, mastering them.

Severus leaned over the desk in the library, scribbling something furiously. There were whispers behind his back, as always, from the other houses. Some comments were teasing and malicious, some were fearful, some weren't even about him. Ah, this place is too noisy. In a swirl of robes, Severus loudly slammed shut his book and rose, glaring at anyone who caught his gaze. People just knew to stay away from him as he tore through the hallways, in an unexpected, unreasonable rage. It would have been just perfect to run into that vexatious James or the ever detestable Sirius. However, he didn't see either of them, even if they were there. Severus began to calm himself down, trying to find a reason as to why he was so pissed. I suppose I'm just tired of everyone talking behind my back, as if I weren't there. God, what an idiot. It doesn't matter; let go of your emotions, Severus. And true to himself, he did simmer down, finally sighing and looking around to see where exactly he was.
In his blind fit of undirected rage, Severus had directed himself into the Slytherin common room. With a sigh, he tossed his books down next to a chair, and sat down in it, thinking of the day that he would get to leave all of this behind and simply be a great wizard, renowned for something or other. Severus frowned. No, not renowned. He would never be renowned, looked up to, or even generally liked. He knew that; embraced it, even. So if he were to be a great wizard, it would be maybe not for something good, but perhaps something questionable. As long as it never hurt Lily. Severus could never quite understand why he loved the girl so much; he just did. It was the way he was, part of his being. Another student interrupted Severus' musings with a loud, rude comment about some Hufflepuff he locked in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Severus laughed along with everyone else, but he wasn't sure if it was fake or genuine.
