Reese smiled sadly, "Yes, we do have that reputation don't we? But isn't is sometimes a good thing. Yes, everyone thinks we're duffers, but then we have the chance to prove them wrong."

"About the only good point about that." Devon shook his head, then downed the rest of the ginger ale to further accomodate settling his stomach. "Which is why it's so important that we have a good team this year. Actually have a chance at finishing somewhere besides third or dead last."

"I sure hope so, it's about time to knock those smug looks off the other teams faces." Reese said, setting down her empty tea cup.

"I know so. I have a good feeling about this season." Devon spoke matter-of-factly, saying it as if it was already something set in stone. In his head, it probably was. "Doesn't mean we need to stop practicing, though. Always could do with a little more work on plays and teamwork."

"Of course, practice makes perfect." Reese smiled. She loved the dynamic of the team this year. There were some new and better faces and skills that made them the black horse in the runnings for the Quidditch Cup.

"If it doesn't make perfect, it'll damn sure come close to it." Now with his stomach settled after the near-fiasco, Devon decided to get up from the rather undignified position of being slouched on the floor. Unsure if talk of Quidditch could go much farther, he thought for a moment before speaking again. "Well..as dinner isn't ready yet, what are we going to do with our free time?" He didn't consciously realizing that he was using the group plural.

"If it doesn't make perfect, it'll damn sure come close to it.
Reese found herself laughing at this, it was so perfectly true to her own logic. His next comment took her by surprise, but she felt happy and satisfied with it. "Hm," Reese thought for a minute, "All sorts of things, I guess."

Realizing his slip in using the plural tense, Devon grinned a bit sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't know where that came from, but..I guess I see no point in hanging around the kitchen any longer. Do you?" If she said no, he'd drop the matter then and there.

"I don't either." Reese smiled, "It's a wonderful place to hang out."

"Well, shall we stay around here and possibly get in the elves' way, or go somewhere else?" Truth be known, he wanted to get away from all the food - and the temptation to eat more. Plus, he was getting restless again at staying in one place for quite a bit of time.

"Yes, it's never a good idea to get in the elves way." Reese nodded and thought for a moment more. "Fancy a walk?" she asked.

"Sounds good to me." Walking around the counters - most low to account for the house-elves' lack of height - Devon walked to the partially hidden door and pulled it open, motioning for her to go out first. "Ladies first."

"Thank you" Reese said smiling and carefully climbed out of the portrait hole.
Now where too? haha
